Come dance & hang out during OPEN GYM nights at EC Fitness. First Position will be renting out a studio once a month for FP dancers to come and dance! An adult will be present during the duration of open gym, and students may not use studios without adult supervision during these times.

Your FIRST Open Gym is free. After that it is $5.00 per dancer (max of $15.00 per family) at the door.

Students must register for Open Gym no later than 2 hours before the time of Open Gym. This is due to the limited space. Reserve your students space!

What to expect?

  • A 45 minute slot will be opened for dancers age 3-9 years old.

  • A 90 minute slot will be opened for dancers age 10-plus.

  • An adult will be present during these times. Parents, there are some months we need volunteers to chaperone. Look at calendar for which slots need someone. **if we don't have an adult who can facilitate, open gym will be cancelled for that month**

  • Open gym will start with a short devo with the adult supervisor, and opened with prayer - because again: It's all about Him!

  • Activity Boards will be provided, which is basically ideas for what they can do during Open Gym. As well as a laptop will be provided by the adult supervisor to allow students to have access to our different online dance classes they can choose from!

Activity Board examples:

  • Games they can play

  • Dance moves & combos they can do across the floor

  • Take a dance class online

  • A sample class schedule they could try to take turns teaching the rest of the group.

  • Choreographing their own dances

  • Replaying old dances they remember from the past

  • Worship Dance - turning the lights off and just freestyling

  • Ultimate Dance Challenge

  • and so many more ideas!

Schedule

3-9 year olds are from 6:15-7:00pm, 10-18+ are from 7:15-8:45pm

October 25th from 6:15-8:45pm

November 29th from 6:15-8:45pm

December 29th from 6:15-8:45pm

January 31st from 6:15-8:45pm

February 23rd from 6:15-8:45pm

March 28th from 6:15-8:45pm

April 27th from 6:15-8:45pm

What to Bring

  1. What to wear: Modest, athletic clothing is best. No low necklines, high waist lines (midriff showing), or short shorts. Shorts must be mid-thigh length.

  2. What to bring: a water bottle

Ground Rules

  1. Children 3-9 years old must be escorted into the gym and taken up to the studio for open gym, and can not be released until a parent comes to pick them up.

  2. Bathrooms are limited so have your student use the restroom BEFORE open gym.

  3. Student can not hang on ballet barres, play with weights or use medicine balls. Property of the gym is off limits. This includes the sound system. (Sound system will be run by adult supervisor only)

  4. Students must be picked up promptly. No students should be there 30 minutes after their time slot. The gym closes at 9pm, so students in the older group must be out of the building no later than 9pm.

  5. Students must be respectful of other students & adults. Any misbehaving that is not adjusted after correction by adult supervisor will result in a conversation with parents and if continues, they will be asked not to attend.
